UABMUN under the moto:"pending matters in the COVID-19 era"
Distinguished Delegates, Chairs and Esteemed Guests,
In the first place, we want to thank you for choosing UABMUN 2021 and making this first edition unforgettable with your participation, with great potential and agreements which will not leave anyone indifferent. Having that said, on behalf of the Secretariat we want to give you a warm welcome.
The secretariat hopes that this first edition will be one that will create a before and after in your experience as far as Model United Nations is concerned. Thus, in order to do that we will fight to give our best so that you can have an unforgettable experience. Despite that, the most important entity about this edition is you. You: chair, delegate, guest or observer; you are the most relevant feature of this first edition. Because without you, this would not be possible.

That is why we encourage you to inquire about the topic you have chosen to acquire great knowledge and be an expert in it. We invite you to participate actively in the debate sessions, present outstanding proposals and sponsor of fruitful resolutions, because the “pending matters of the COVID-19 era” need to be addressed and tackled from the roots.
We, the youth, are living in an ever-changing world and as much as we are grateful for the blossoming opportunities we enjoy, we must acknowledge that the voice we are granted and the chances we are given are not universal. We, young people, must refuse to accept the status quo and raise our voice in the long-standing battle for a truly equal, peaceful and prospering future for us and the next generation. Thus, as my last remarks, I would encourage those who are still hesitant to embark on this journey with us and let your echo through the voice you raise, the resolution you craft, and the friendship you make. Together, we can make these pending matters of the COVID-19 era, not pending anymore.
Yours sincerely,
The UABMUN Secretariat 2021

UNANIMUN, Association for International Relations of the UAB was born at the end of 2005 from a group of students from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Despite coming from different academic fields (mainly Political Science, Economics, Law and Journalism), the main interest of all of them was International Relations and the dynamics established within the current global status quo.
